Gurgaon: Gurgaon's Chief Judicial Magistrate Ravneet Garg, charged for the murder of his wife, is likely to be questioned again by the police on Monday. The Gurgaon judge was interrogated by the police on Sunday night for more than four hours.

A murder case has been registered against the judge, four days after his wife was found dead with three bullet injuries near his official residence in high security Police Lines area.

The Gurgaon Police lodged an FIR against Garg on Saturday night for allegedly murdering his wife Gitanjali. She was found dead on July 17.

The post mortem report has mentioned that one bullet hit her stomach while another bullet hit the chin and pierced through her head. A third bullet was also fired which injured her neck minutely.

The police had also recovered a weapon near the dead body and the CJM has confirmed to the police that the weapon belonged to him.

While the judge claimed that Gitanjali had killed herself, her family members suspected a foul play. They have also raised doubt over fair investigation into the matter and demanded a CBI inquiry.

"Since, Ravneet Garg is posted here as CJM, we very much doubt that fair and fearless investigation can be done by the local police.

"It would be better if the matter is investigated by an agency like the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI)," said Gitanjali's brother Pardeep Aggarwal.

He said that Garg family's desire of a male child led to his sister's murder. Gitanjali got married to Garg in 2007 and they have two daughters aged around 4 and 3 years.

Her brother has alleged that it is a case of murder, since as per the post mortem report, there are three gunshot injuries and one head injury on her body.

"She could not fire three shots at herself," Aggarwal said.

Meanwhile, an SIT team, led by Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Ashok Bakshi, and forensic experts visited the official residence of the CJM. "The police have little faith in the theory floated by Garg that his wife had committed suicide," said the ACP.

They questioned some relatives of the couple.

An SIT team was formed to probe the murder.
