Hyderabad: The Andhra Pradesh High Court on Wednesday adjourned till January 4 the hearing on a regular bail plea of jailed YSR Congress chief Y S Jaganmohan Reddy in the alleged disproportionate assets case. Justice B Seshasayana Reddy adjourned the hearing on the bail plea moved by the Kadapa MP to January 4 to enable the CBI to file a status report on the progress of investigation into the case.
While posting the matter to January 4, the judge remarked that "CBI cannot hope to keep Jagan in jail endlessly". Reddy asked the central agency about the details of the progress in the investigation as CBI had filed an affidavit before the Supreme Court claiming that a comprehensive charge sheet would be filed after completing the probe expeditiously.
The high court had on December 24 rejected the statutory bail plea of Jagan who has been in jail since May 27 after being arrested by CBI on corruption charges.
