Justice CV Nagarjuna Reddy of the High Court on Tuesday directed the government to go ahead with evaluation of the price bids of the short-listed tenders for the Polavaram irrigation project works only after communicating to the unsuccessful bidders the reasons for their disqualification.
The judge disposed of three writ petitions filed by the unsuccessful bidders (CGS-Gammon-AMR joint venture, Madhucon-Sinohydro JV and Transstroy-JSC engineering centre JV) who had complained that the process of elimination was illegal and that they were not informed as to why they were disqualified. Soma-CGGS is among the successful bidders and the government informed the court that it had not yet finalised the tender.
