BANGALORE: High court dismissed the petition filed by a freedom fighter requesting the court to direct the central government to give him freedom fighter’s pension.The division bench consisting of Chief Justice JS Khehar and Justice HG Ramesh dismissed the petition and imposed a cost of `50,000 on the petitioner.The caseShivaram of Rajajinagar had filed an appeal requesting the court to direct the government to grant him pension as he had participated in the Quit India Movement.The petitioner had contended that the Union government had invited applications from freedom fighters to give them pension under Swathantra Sainik Sanman Pension Scheme, 1983. The Centre did not grant him the pension though he applied for it and sent many requests for pension. The writ petition filed by him seeking pension was dismissed
