HYDERABAD: Justice Raja Elango of the AP High court on Wednesday stayed criminal cases against YS Jagan Mohan Reddy and Ambati Rambabu for allegedly destroying the tents of CPI activists near NTR stadium in February. Sudamlla Venkata swamy of the CPI lodged had lodged a complaint with the police that the MP and his followers not only removed their tents, but also abused him in the name of his caste. In the present petition the petitioner pointed out in the earlier case police took a stand there was no material in allegations and having done so the police could not register the cases. Lecturers’ Transfers StayedA division bench of the AP High Court comprising justice Ghulam Mohammad and justice PV Sanjay Kumar on Wednesday stayed the transfer of lecturers effected earlier in the month by the AP Residential Educational Institutions Society. The bench was dealing with a batch of writ appeals filed against an order of a single judge refusing to stay the transfers. Senior counsel DV Sitarama Murthy pointed out that GO 610 cannot be made applicable to the Society and also affected persons have been working for the past quarter century and there cannot be transfers in course of an academic year.No Stay on TTD’s e-Auction of HairJustice G Rohini of the AP High Court on Wednesday made it clear there was no stay on the e-auction of hair undertaken by the TTD. Writ petitions were filed questioning the action of the TTD in resorting to e-auction through a third party without the authority of law. The auction process was delegated by the TTD to a Central government undertaking. The auction which procured an income of `134 crore was justified as a successful attempt to overcome illegal cartels.
