However, a thorough search by the police proved that it was a hoax bomb call.According to the police, around 2.30 pm a person who introduced himself as naxal Thyagaraj called up on the land line of Jayalakshmi, the personal assistant of KPSC Secretary V B Patil, and asked her to connect him to the Secretary. As she said the Secretary was not available at that time, he told her that he had planted four bombs on the office premises and they would explode at any moment and cut the call.Jayalakshmi immediately alerted the Vidhana Soudha police, who summoned sniffer squad and bomb disposal squad to the spot. “After checking every nook and corner of the KPSC premises, including its terrace, for more than 90 minutes, no bomb or explosive substances were found and we came to the conclusion that it was a hoax call,” the police added. The police are trying to trace the phone number from which the hoax call was made. A case has been registered in Vidhana Soudha police station in this connection.
