BANGALORE: Karnataka High Court on Monday directed the city corporation to tell what was the number of residential buildings in the city that were being used for commercial purposes without permission.
The HC asked the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) to submit the information within a week. The court was hearing a public interest litigation that had been filed in 2006. Chief Justice J S Khehar told the BBMP that the court would ensure that the building owners followed the rules and adjourned the case to July 4.The BBMP had submitted before the court hat 169 residential buildings in Sadashivnagar were being used for commercial purposes.
