New Delhi: A first year engineering student, Sareddy Chiman Prakash and another teen, Nikhil now have an Android 2.3 powered tablet to their credit. On Saturday, amidst much fanfare, Andhra Pradesh Information Technology and Communications Minister, Ponnala Lakshmaiah launched the 'high-end' Ave tablet at Hyderabad, which is being offered for Rs 12,999, confirms a Hindu Business Line report. The Ave tablet will be manufactured by a U.K.- based company, Sareddy Technologies, a company owned by Prakash's father.

The tablet itself is being furthered as a trendy, multi-purpose cyber gadget, according to the report. Here's a closer look at what the Ave brings to the table. To start off with, the Ave tablet, which will be powered by Android 2.3 (Gingerbread), sports a 7-inch display. The report further suggests that the tablet comes with a compatibility zoom mode and the it also supports Micro SD cards of up to 32GB, besides having built-in memory of 8GB, which they claim would be suitable for requirements of people of different age groups and professions.

The report further suggests that company is keen on selling 1,000 tablets in the first month of launch. The minister, according to this report has been actively communicating Kapil Sibal, the Union Minister to get the young talents more encouragement. Sibal himself has been actively involved in the 'Aakash' tablet project - a move, which looks at providing quality education to the masses who cannot afford it.
