Days after being mercilessly beaten by a female constables outside a Ganesh pandal in Mumbai, Nandini Goswami has finally broken her silence. She has alleged that the Mumbai police constables had abused her parents and thrashed her with sticks at the police station.
"I haven't done anything wrong. Police abused my parents after which I got into an argument with the police. We were entering from the VIP gate as many people were entering from the same gate. Why weren't they beaten up," she said.
She also denied the claims of the police that she was mentally unstable.
Nandini was beaten up after she tried to enter through the VIP gate at the Lalbaugcha Raja Pandal in Mumbai.
The video of a lady police official beating up Nandini had gone viral, prompting police to initiate a probe into the incident. "The zonal DCP will personally inquire into the matter," DCP (Detection 1) M Dahikar had said.
