According to reports, the bar owner has offered to give a 3 per cent discount on the MRP. The owner of Karnataka Wines shop on Kusugal Road, Hubballi, has created this innovative awareness. According to him, to make a strong India, everyone has been called upon to exercise their right to elect a good person and send them to Parliament. The turnout was very low in the last election as well. So this year, he wants to make a change.

In this regard, bar owner Vinayak Akalvadi has requested that no one should avoid voting. He said that a discount would be given to those who buy alcohol on May 8 by showing their inked index finger.

However, in the last assembly elections too, voters were given liquor at a discounted rate by Karnataka Wines.

Meanwhile, in Bengaluru, during polling Phase 2 of the Lok Sabha poll on Friday, several hotels, pubs, and taxi aggregators announced discounts, freebies, and free rides.

According to reports, there are over one crore people eligible to cast votes in Bengaluru. They have to show their inked index finger to avail of the offers. It is not the first time such initiatives have been announced.

According to sources, the Nisarga Grand Hotel on Nrupatunga Road offered free butter dosa, ghee rice, and a beverage to voters on voting day.

Though the voting day was dry, Deck of Brews, a restaurant in Bellandur, also decided to offer free mugs of beer and discounts to voters on April 27 and 28.

Another popular chain of pubs, Social, has also introduced a special initiative. They decided to issue special bills with a message encouraging people to vote. Guests who bring back these bills after voting and show their inked fingers will receive a 20 per cent discount on their meal. An employee said the offer will be valid for one week from the date of voting in the respective cities.
