India's Ambassador to US, Nirupama Rao, said that an anonymous caller had claimed that a bomb was placed in the embassy.
Washington DC: The Indian Embassy in the US was on Tuesday evacuated following a bomb threat. However, all the employees of the embassy were reported to be safe.
The authorities conducted searches in the buildings of both the Indian embassy as well as the consulate in Mass Avenue, downtown Washington DC.
Reacting to the incident, India’s Ambassador to US, Nirupama Rao, said that an anonymous called had claimed to have placed a bomb in the embassy, following which the police were called in.
She said that a thorough check was done and nothing could be found, adding that all the employees of the embassy were safe.
