Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa on Monday announced that two new taluks would be created in Tiruvannamalai and Tirupur districts with Kalasapakkam and Madathukkulam as their headquarters, respectively. She also granted `3.41 crore towards creating additional posts to man these new taluks and purchasing office equipment. Besides, the CM also ordered construction of new a building for the Udumalaipettai revenue division at a cost of `1.85 crore.
The new taluk in Tiruvannamalai district would comprise Kalasapakkam, Kadaladi and Kettavarampalayam firkas. To man this new taluk, 42 new posts would be created and office furniture purchased at a total cost of `2.41 crore, an official release here said. Similarly, the new taluk in Tirupur district would comprise Kudimangalam, Pethappampatti and Thoongavi firkas. The CM has granted `9.98 lakh towards creation of new posts for this new taluk.
The Udumalaipettai revenue division office at present functions from the taluk office complex with insufficient space. The CM has ordered construction of a new office building for the RDO office at Udumalaipettai.
