A case of medical negligence has come to light from Latehar in Jharkhand. As many as 20 women were given no medical care after they underwent sterilisation at a hospital.
The incident occurred at Sardar hospital in Latehar. The patients were spotted sleeping on the floor due to lack of beds in the hospital.
The hospital management has initiated a probe into the case.
In a similar incident, a doctor had in March carried out sterilisation surgeries on 27 women in an hour at a primary health centre in Uttar Pradesh without proper arrangements in place, prompting district authorities to order a probe.
In November 2014, a botched sterilisation camp had led to the death of 13 women in Raipur in Chhattisgarh.
