Waseem Mehraj Malla was shot at from close range by gunmen outside his house in Krankishivan area of Sopore. He was rushed to a nearby hospital in a critical condition but was declared dead on arrival.
He was pursuing Masters Degree from Islamic University of Sciences and Technology at Awantipora in Pulwama district.
Police has started investigations in the case. No terrorist outfit has claimed responsibility for the killing so far.
