KARWAR: All four generating stations of the Kali Hydro Electric Project (KHEP) at Nagzari, Supa, Kodsalli and Kadra have been producing 1,140 MW of electricity (around 27 million units) on a daily basis, as against the maximum generating capacity of 1,240 MW, said superintending engineer of Karnataka Power Corporation Ltd (KPCL) Shankar Devnoor at Ganeshgudi on Wednesday. He said, 5,209 cusecs of water are being released from Supa reservoir, the life line of the Kali project, to Bommanhalli pick up dam to enable all the six units of Nagzari power house to generate power. Around 4,496 cusecs of water are used at Ganeshgudi to generate power from two units. However, the inflow of water to the reservoir is just 3,325 cusecs. There are four units, each with a generating capacity of 150 MW and two units each with 135 MW at Nagzari, three units each with 50 units at Kadra and three units each with 40 MW at Kodsalli.
