BANGALORE: BJP member Karadi Sanganna who was recently re-elected to the state Assembly in the bypoll held in Koppal Assembly Constituency took oath of office on Friday. Assembly Speaker K G Bopaiah administered the office to Sanganna in his chamber.Addressing newsmen later, Sanganna defended his decision to join the BJP and said that he would help the party pursue development.Attributing his victory to former and current chief ministers BS Yeddyurappa and D V Sadananda Gowda, and other leaders, he said, “I am not eying a ministerial berth; however if party high command offers me any such post, I will not hesitate to take it up.” He also thanked party activists and leaders who had strived for his victory in the hard-fought bypoll.Sanganna, who was with the JD(S), had recently resigned from his seat.Several ministers in the BJP government, including Cooperation Minister Lakshman Savadi, PWD Minister C M Udasi and Excise Minister M P Renukacharya, were among those present.
