Kerala government approves a package for Saudi returned workers
So far from April 1 around 13,888 Keralites have returned from Saudi Arabia.

Thiruvananthapuram: A rehabilitation package has been approved by the Kerala government for Non Resident Keralites (NRKS), returning home due to the Nitaqat Labour Law of Saudi Arabia.

There is an increase in the number of people reaching the various airports in the state after the deadline ended on November 4. Around 214 people have returned in the past five days.

The rehabilitation package by the state government includes seeking the services of prominent Malayalees or other Indians to provide job opportunities to those who want return to Gulf countries.

The job portal of Norka-Roots will also be utilised for this.

Financial assistance will be provided for those who want to start small scale business like diary units and hi-tech farming.

So far from April 1 around 13,888 Keralites have returned from Saudi Arabia.

According to Kerala state government there are about 2,000 Malayalees in Saudi Arabia, who couldn't return due to technical reasons and the government is looking at ways to bring them back.
