THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The UDF won five and LDF two seats in the by-elections held to seven local bodies, the results of which were declared on Wednesday. Two wards were wrested by the UDF from the LDF - G ward in Angamaly municipality and Idayapara ward in Kangazha, Kottayam, though by a margin of 4 votes. P V Georgekutty of INC won from the G ward of Angamaly municipality by 125 votes while Chandralekha of the INC won from Idayapara. A S Manoj of CPM won by 273 votes from Manigramam in Guruvayur municipality. Marotichal ward in Olookara (Trichur) favoured the Congress with its candidate Lissie Andrews winning by a margin of 521 votes. In Thiruvananthapuram - Vamanapuram, Kalamachal ward, G Madhu of the CPM won by 14 votes. In Kunnukara-Kunnukara East ward in Ernakulam district, Shibi Puthuseri of the Congress won by a margin of 125 votes.
