The Karnataka State Tourism Development Corporation (KSTDC) Workers Union has alleged that there are several irregularities in the working of the Corporation and demanded a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) probe into the alleged misappropriation of funds to the tune of `9 crore released by the Union Government.
Addressing a press conference in the city, G R Shivashankar, President of the KSTDC Workers Union said that there is no accountability in the Tourism Department.
“The Central Government released funds to the Tourism Department to build hotel and restaurants at various tourists places in the state, but these funds are misappropriated by the officials of Karnataka State Tourism Development Corporation,” Shivashankar alleged.
Further, the members of the Karnataka State Tourism Development Corporation Workers Union also demanded that canteens, which are being closed for violating norms at various places, can be handed over to them for better maintenance.
