THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Kerala University has decided to seek explanation from six engineering colleges affiliated to the university following the report of the CAG that they had admitted students who have not qualified the entrance examinations. The University decided to seek explanation following media reports on the same. The CAG report had observed that some students who had not qualified in the entrance exam were admitted to the six affiliated engineering colleges of the Kerala University.  The report pointed out that in 2008, 33 students admitted to Mary Matha College of Engineering and 25 students admitted to Travancore Engineering College, Ayur, Kollam, had not qualified in the entrance examination conducted by the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations. Similarly, during 2009, 96 students admitted to K R Gouri Amma College of Engineering, Alappuzha, had not qualified in the entrance examination conducted by the CEE. There were also similar complaints against P A Aziz College of Engineering, Karakulam, Younus College of Engineering, Vadakkevila, Kollam, and TKM Engineering College, Kollam.
