HYDERABAD: The Haj Camp2011 concluded with the arrival of 475 pilgrims by the Saudi Arabian Airlines on Friday. Minister for minorities welfare Mohammed Ahmadullah, accompanied by State Haj Committee chairman Syed Khaleeluddin Ahmed and others, received the pilgrims at the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport at Shamshabad and congratulated them on fulfilling their lifetime desire of performing Haj. This year, about 8,000 pilgrims, including 799 from neighbouring Karnataka, left for Haj from Hyderabad.
The largest contingent of 2,861 pilgrims were from the state capital, followed by 512 from Kurnool district, 382 from Ranga Reddy, 366 from Mahaboobnagar, 362 from Nizamabad, 346 from Guntur, 335 from Kadapa, etc. Eleven pilgrims breathed their last in Saudi Arabia and all others have returned home safely by 28 flights.
