New Delhi: With the view to take on the Samsung Galaxy S5 and HTC One M8, LG has followed up on a series of leaks by unveiling its next flagship smartphone - the LG G3.
The LG G3 has a 5.5-inch Quad HD display with 538ppi, which the company says is four times the resolution of HD and almost two times higher resolution than a full HD display. The LG G3 boasts a screen ratio of 76.4 per cent with thin bezels.
Running Android 4.4.2 KitKat, the phone is powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 801 quad-core processor with a clock speed of up to 2.5GHz. It has 3GB of RAM.
Its 13 megapixel rear camera with OIS+ (Optical Image Stabilizer Plus) includes the Laser Auto Focus system, which is claimed to shoot sharp images in a fraction of the time required by conventional phone cameras.
LG says the G3's 2.1 megapixel front camera incorporates several new enhancements such as a larger image sensor and larger aperture for more light throughput; the result could be your improved selfies. The company has added gesture controls in the standard timed selfie mode - when ready to shoot, simply clench your hand into a fist and the G3 will recognise the gesture and begin the automatic three-second countdown.
The phone has a polished metallic skin on the rear cover that is fingerprint-proof. The LG G3 comes packed with a 3,000mAh removable battery and 1W speaker.

It will come in five colours - Metallic Black, Silk White, Shine Gold, Moon Violet and Burgundy Red.
Starting on May 28 in South Korea, the LG G3 will begin rolling out worldwide in over 170 carriers. Additional details will be announced locally at the time of availability.
