THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A Lok Ayukta Bench on Wednesday admitted a petition against Nirmal Madhavan, whose admission to the Government College of Engineering, Kozhikode has snowballed into a big issue.The petition was filed by T Mohandas, a member of Parent-Teacher Association at the college. The petition alleged that Nirmal Madhavan had secured admission to the college through improper methods and that too by bypassing four other students with higher ranks who were in the waiting list.Higher Education Department Principal Secretary Tom Jose, Undersecretary K R Sasikumar, vice-chancellors of Calicut and Kerala universities and six others are also included in the respondents’ list. The Lok Ayukta Bench served notice to the respondents to appear before the legal forum on October 27.
