An FIR has been registered against RJD candidate for Maharajganj Lok Sabha bye-election Prabhunath Singh for allegedly threatening a voter during Sunday's polling, police said on Monday.
On the basis of a written complaint of Rahimuddin Khan, a native of Khawaspur village, Singh and his supporter Surendra Pandey threatened him with dire consequences when he he was standing in queue outside a booth, if he voted against him.
An FIR has been lodged against Singh and Pandey, Superintendent of Police Vivek Kumar said. This is the second FIR lodged against Singh, a three time former MP from Siwan.
Earlier, an FIR was registered against him with Bhagwanpur police station for misbehaving with a trainee IAS officer and an agriculture department officer on poll duty. Singh is locked in a triangular contest with JD-U's P K Shahi and Congress nominee Jitendra Swami.
