Kerala: Noted Malayalam poet K Sreekumar was attacked allegedly by RSS workers in Kerala’s Kollam district on Monday night.
The incident took place when Sreekumar was returning home after delivering a speech at a public function. He was abused and attacked by a group of men when he was about to enter his car. Police said six men have been taken into custody.
“While I was trying to get into my car a group of people detained me and started abusing me. Thanks to a group of people who intervened, I escaped without much trouble,” said Sreekumar.
The office of Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan intervened in the matter and directed the district police chief to act against the miscreants.
