New Delhi: A 30-year-old man allegedly strangled his wife for refusing to go to bed with him. The police say that he then had sex with her dead body and mutilated it.
Police arrested Subash, a resident of Poonamallee area in Chennai on Friday. Subash - who earns a living by selling soft drinks on a push cart - came home drunk on Thursday afternoon and forced himself on his 28-year-old wife Shanti.
According to the police, the couple were also arguing about household expenses. Subash then slapped her and strangled her using a skipping rope.
"We arrested Subash from his house. During interrogation, he confessed that he had murdered her for refusing sex," Inspector Velan of the Poonamallee police station said.
The couple have been married for 10 years and have two sons aged seven and ten. The children said that their parents used to fight regularly.
The children have been placed under the care of an uncle for the time being.
