Medals for 2014 Commonwealth Games unveiled
The medals for the 2014 Commonwealth Games were unveiled in Glasgow to mark 100 days to the Games' opening ceremony on July 23.

London: The medals for the 2014 Commonwealth Games were unveiled in Glasgow to mark 100 days to the Games' opening ceremony on July 23.

The gold, silver and bronze medals were displayed at an event at the Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum in Glasgow, Xinhua reported.

Organisers said more than 1,380 medals would be awarded at 261 medal ceremonies during the games.

Each of the medals weighs 100 gm and has been hand-made by expert jewellers at the Glasgow School of Art.

The medals were designed by Jonathan Boyd, who lectures at the Glasgow School of Art.

The Commonwealth Games will be held in Glasgow from July 23 to August 3, with about 4,500 athletes participating.
