Miscreants pelt stones at ministers house

The residence of K C Venugopal, Union Minister  of State for Power, was attacked in the early hours of Friday.

According to Venugopal, his house at Pazhaveedu near Alappuzha was stoned by the CPM workers, who came on a two-wheeler around 12.30 am on Friday. The window panes of his house were broken in the attack.

The Alappuzha South police have registered a case in this regard and are yet to trace the culprits.

Meanwhile, the police have arrested six CPM workers in connection with various attacks that took place during the hartal on Thursday.

Arshad, Sarath, Faizal, Noufal, Rahul and Shyam are the arrested.  They will be produced before the Alappuzha Judicial First Class Magistrate Court, the police said.
