Monsoon kills 19 people in Kerala in the first three weeks
The worst affected district is Wayanad where a loss of 838.81 lakhs is cited. Rain and thunderstorms are still continuning in wayanad.

Thiruvanathapuram: A total of 19 lives have been lost in monsoon rains so far, across Kerala. Five deaths have been reported from Thrissur, four from Kannur, three from Pathanamthitta, two each from Idukki and Kasargode, one each from Malappuram, Alappuzha and Kozhikode. The total crop loss is about 1425.06 lakh. 87 houses are fully damaged and 2292 houses are partially damaged which caused an estimated loss of 865.4 lakhs.

Relief camps have been setup in Vaitiri and Bateri taluks of Wayanad. The metrological department have predicted heavy rainfall in isolated places across Kerala till the 28th June. A warning has also been issued to the fishermen of the state not to go deep sea fishing as the sea has turned rough.
