Mopidevi made scapegoat: Danam

HYDERABAD: Labour minister Danam Nagender has categorically said that former excise minister Mopidevi Venkataramana was made a scapegoat in the Vanpic land deal. Speaking to reporters at the Secretariat here on Saturday, he said that the file signed by Mopidevi was purely on the basis of decision taken by state Cabinet. It was a collective decision and Mopidevi cannot be singled out. The land allocated to Vanpic was based on cabinet decision and the minister signed the note file which was submitted by the govt. He did not write any remarks on the note file. If he had written anything on the note, then it could have given some suspicions that he had signed the file to favour certain persons, but Mopidevi did not write anything on the file which indicates that he was made a scapegoat, Nagender said. The land policy is the policy decision of the government to attract investments.
