Flipkart has now re-started taking orders for the newly launched Moto E handset, but Flipkart says the current stock is limited to 20,000 units.

The back covers for the Moto E, which were also announced alongside the Moto E launch on May 13, are now also listed on Flipkart for Rs 899 apeice. The changeable back panels come in a wide range of colours - Raspberry, Chaulk, Lemon Lime, Violet, Turquoise.

While it is not known how many units of the Moto E Flipkart has sold till now, Motorola Mobility India General Manager Amit Boni had said during the launch event that the company was "confident of crossing the half million units sales mark in the next few days."

The Moto E is the cheapest Android KitKat powered smartphone in the Indian market. The Moto E has a qHD 4.3 inch display (960x540 pixels at 256 ppi) and a curved back. It is powered by a dual-core 1.2GHz processor (Qualcomm Snapdragon 200 A7), 1GB RAM, Android KitKat 4.4 with guaranteed update to next Android version. The device has an Adreno 302 400 MHz single core graphics card. With a 1,980 mAh battery, the dual-SIM device has a 5MP rear camera.

The handset, which has been simultaneously launched in the UK, competes directly with handsets from homegrown players like Micromax, Xolo and Karbonn in India.

With the Moto E, Motorola lowers its price bar even further and the phone is expected to give stiff competition to the Indian brands that thrive in the budget Android smartphone segment. Recently HTC has also launched the Desire 210 in India at Rs 8,700.
