Katni: In order to make people understand the importance of Aadhaar, a man in Madhya Pradesh has gotten his daughter’s wedding invites printed to look like the unique identity card.
Virendra Tiwari, an agriculturist and a native of Vilayatkalan village in Katni district, is gearing up for his daughter’s wedding. “Whatever I do in life, I try tagging a message to it for the welfare of society. Therefore, we planned a unique theme for the invites,” said Tiwari to News18.
He says the initial plan was to print the invites like the calendar but they decided on the Aadhaar card to create awareness about the document’s importance.
The idea was a hit as the cards became the talk of the town. Tiwari further claims that the design helped him save on paper because, usually, it takes four to five pages for an invite.
Tiwari also runs a Shadi Suvidha Kendra, an initiative helping parents find suitable matches for their children. Tiwari persuades parents he meets to adopt themes embedded with social messages for their child’s wedding invites as well.
Tiwari’s endeavours are not limited to invitations. Recently, after his father passed away, the agriculturist planted hundreds of saplings during the mourning period.
He even observes his birthday, October 30, as anti-dowry day.
