Bhopal: A 21-year-old youth travelling in a bus in Madhya Pradesh's Satna district was killed on Sunday as the conductor threw him out of the running vehicle after an argument over an extra Rs 5 fare, police said.
Subham Singh, a resident of Rampur block, had come to Satna, the district headquarters, to find out the results of police recruitment test. He then boarded a bus between Satna and Rewa district this morning to return home.
As the conductor charged him Rs 25 instead of Rs 20, the normal fare from Satna to Rampur, Singh protested. The argument then turned into a scuffle and the conductor threw Singh out near Madhavgarh. Singh's head hit the road divider and he died instantly.
The other passengers then informed police about the incident.
"We have also received complaints from relatives of victim and registered a case. The bus have been seized and the driver arrested," BD Pandey, officer in-charge of Kulgwa police station, told IANS.
However, the conductor, whose name was not known, had managed to escape, he said.
