MSF to take out protest march to Amala Cellege

KOZHIKODE: The Muslim Students Federation (MSF) will organise a token protest march to the Amala Medical College, the self-financing college under the Inter Church Council in Thrissur on June 20, said P K Firoz, state president of the MSF.  He said the protest was against the self-financing colleges giving admissions without ensuring social justice.  He said a series of protests would be held if the so-called self-financing colleges are not ready to follow norms for social justice in the admission procedure. Those who speak volumes on social justice at the mosques and churches should be role models and set a precedent by introducing it in their institutions first.He said if the Inter Church Council is not ready to revoke its decision, the MSF will not allow its institutions to function in the state. Firoz said the UDF government should not yield before pressure tactics of the self-financing college managements. The government should take stringent measures including takeover of self-financing colleges that are not ready to accept the decision of the government. Firoz said the self financing colleges that are up in arms against the government’s decision are only concerned about their interest and not minorities.
