Murder accused held

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Varkala police on Friday arrested a man accused in a murder case, who had allegedly killed his brother. The accused has been identified as Appukuttan, 22, of Chavadimukku, near Varkala. Appukuttan had allegedly killed his brother Kochukuttan, 25, by hitting him on his head with a grinding stone over a domestic dispute on Sunday. He escaped after the incident. The police on Friday arrested him from his relative’s house at Navaikulam where he was hiding. The arrest was effected by a team led by Varkala Circle Inspector R Asokan and Additional Sub Inspector Aravindan. Appukuttan was produced in the court and remanded to judicial custody.
