New Delhi: She has been mesmerising with her golden voice for over seven decades and as legendary singer Lata Mangeshkar turns 82 today, she plans to continue singing.
Lata, who believes in celebrating her big day without much fanfare, says she soon plans to come up with her first Rabindra sangeet album.
"I don't have any major birthday plans. I don't celebrate my birthday. I am receiving first Hridaynath Mangeshkar lifetime achievement award today and it's a proud moment," Lata told PTI.
The melody queen, who has earned many accolades in her long musical career, dismissed recent reports that she was planning to retire.
"I am doing Rabindra Sangeet these days. Although I have sung few in the past but this is for the first time there will be an entire album. I hope that it will be launched in January," Lata said.
"Music will remain with me till my last breath. I have done one Gayatri Mantra album recently and regularly working on my music," she said.
The singer, often described as 'Goddess of music' will receive Hridaynath award, initiated by Hridyesh arts to celebrate 75th anniversary of her younger brother.
Filmmaker Yash Chopra and Amitabh Bachchan will present this award to the legend. Incidentally, it was Big B, who inspired her to keep in touch with the youth through microblogging site Twitter and Lata says it has now become a habit to update her thoughts online everyday.
"Somebody suggested me that I should also join Twitter. I saw that many people are active on Twitter including Amitabh Bachchan, who is very regular. When I saw this, I also joined Twitter and now it's a habit. I update my status myself," Lata said.
The Bharat Ratna recipient credits her success to God and her fans and says she feel humbled by all the love.
"I don't have any unfulfilled wish. I am very satisfied with my life. God has been very kind and given me everything. I have no complaints with anyone," Lata said.
