BANGALORE: Chief Minister D V Sadananda Gowda unveiled the portraits of four eminent personalities - Swami Vivekananda, Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose, Sir M Visveswaraya and former prime minister Lal Bahadur Shastri - in the Council Hall on Monday.The CM, after unveiling the portraits, said that the nation continues to draw inspiration from such leaders.Audio clippings of the four personalities were played on the occasion, most notably Swami Vivekananda’s epic speech in 1893 at the Parliament of the World’s Religions in Chicago, USA.Legislative Council Chairman D H Shankaramurthy, who spoke on the occasion, informed that the decision to unveil the portraits was taken after consulting the floor leaders of the Legislative Council a few months ago.He also expressed willingness to unveil the portraits of several other leaders.
