Never felt pressure of 'Chashme Baddoor' legacy: David Dhawan
The 1981 film was about three bachelorS - Farooq Shaikh, Rakesh Bedi and Jai Ravi Baswani smitten by DeeptI Naval.

Mumbai: Filmmaker David Dhawan, who is back to tickle the funny bone of the audience with the remake version of 'Chashme Baddoor', today said he did not feel the pressure of recreating the magic of 1981 romcom having the same title.

"I never feel the pressure of making films. People follow my films. I have done around 40 films. It is part and parcel of the industry...If you like something you do it. I am not under pressure", Dhawan said.

The 1981 film was about three bachelor students - Farooq Shaikh, Rakesh Bedi and Jai Ravi Baswani smitten by Deepti Naval.

"Rakesh Bedi and Ravi Baswani are my good friends. I loved their work. This film of mine is a tribute to Ravi...He is no more with us today. I must say I have enjoyed doing this film", Dhawan said at a music launch function here.

Directed by Dhawan, 'Chashme Buddoor' stars Pakistani singer-actor Ali Zafar, southern star Siddharth, Divyendu Sharma of 'Pyaar Ka Punchnama' fame, actress Tapsee Pannu, Rishi Kapoor, Juhi Chawla and Anupam Kher.

"The soul of the film remains same. The scenes have been changed, considering today's youth. That time (1981) was different, but the emotion remains same. I think I have made a good film. The film is primarily about friendship", the director said.

South actress Tapsee Pannu who will be making her debut in Bollywood said, "this film is a perfect launch pad for me in Bollywood. I couldn't have asked for anything better. I feel I am lucky to get a film like this".

The makers of the film recreated Goa in Mumbai while launching the music of the movie.

The launch saw choreographer Ganesh Acharya shaking his leg on the song 'Har Ek Friend Kamina Hota Hai' with his troupe and the star cast of the film in a suburban mall, temporarily converted into a caf which looked similar to the one in Goa where the film was shot, amidst hundreds of fans. The film hits cinema houses on April 5.
