In a decision that may prove to be a gamechanger ahead of general elections, the Union Cabinet on Monday approved 10% reservation for economically backward upper castes in jobs and education, sources told News18. As per initial information, those earning less than Rs 8 lakh per annum would be eligible for the proposed quota.

Lashing out at the Congress over chaotic proceedings in Parliament, Defence Minister Nirmala Sitharaman said the government is ready to answer questions, but the opposition is not ready to listen.
