No more dry run on SETC buses

CHENNAI: Passengers of State Express Transport Corporation (SETC) buses can now quench their thirst as free drinking water is being provided to them, while on the move.A container with 20 litres of mineral water and a tumbler has been placed in buses operating from the bus terminal at Koyembedu. “About 400 buses are covered under the initiative, which is likely to be extended till August,” a senior official with SETC said.According to sources, 8,000 litres of drinking water is being provided everyday, giving commuters relief during the dog days. The free drinking water initiative is expected to be extended to other services of SETC plying in the rest of TN. The State-owned transport corporation runs 905 inter-state buses.
