The Madurai Bench of the Madras High Court here has ordered notice to the State government as well as Madurai district administration on two writ petitions filed by PRP Exports and PRP Granites against the sealing of their factories and suspending quarrying operations in 55 licensed sites totally spread over 543.83 acres in the district. The writ petitions filed by P Suresh Kumar, a partner in the two companies, stated that the Madurai District Collector and the Superintendent of Police sealed their factories, seized their vehicles and other equipment, and thereby suspended their quarrying operations in an abrupt manner, the petitioner claimed in the affidavit.
