The negligence of NTR University of Health Sciences has caused a lot worry for the candidates who have appeared for the entrance exam of MD in Ayurveda and Homeopathy when they were given OMR sheets with 100 points though the question paper was for 200 marks. According to the sources, the entrance exam was held two centres-- Siddartha government medical college and Maris Stella college--here on Sunday.
Around 1,300 candidates including those from other states appeared for the exam. However, they were given 100 points OMR sheet along with a 200-mark question paper when the exam began at 10 am. The students brought the issue to the notice of the authorities at the exam centres, who in turn discussed the matter with the university authorities and supplied 200 points OMR sheet after 40 minutes.
The students alleged that they were not given grace time after the scheduled 3 hours though 40 minutes were wasted over the OMR sheet issue. Dr Neelima, who took the exam at Siddartha medical college, said she was not allowed to write the exam after 1 pm. Another candidate, Rajesh, at Maris Stella College, students suffered due to the negligence of the authorities. “They snatched away my answer sheet at 1 pm sharp,” he said.
When contacted, D Ramesh Kumar, controller of examinations at NTR varsity, claimed that additional time was allowed for the candidates.
