BANGALORE: The residents of C V Raman Nagar ward under Bruhat Bangalore Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) are suffering from innumerable civic issues, from water woes to traffic congestion.Even after repeated complaints to the BBMP, severe shortage of water prevails in this locality. “There is a Cauvery connection, but water is supplied only once a week,” said Balaji, a resident of Nagarpalya Main Road who runs a sweets shop. When City Express visited a slum consisting of 500 houses in 6th cross of Nagarpalya Main road, Ravi a resident said, “We buy bore well water at 50 paise per pot from a house nearby.” Voicing a similar opinion, Anjanappa said, “A private contractor is minting money out of the residents’ plight.”Another issue that concerns this area are the traffic jams which start from early morning. Annappa, a shopkeeper said, “The entire stretch of Nagarpalya witnesses huge traffic jams from 7am, as this is a shorter route to Kagdasanapura, Marathali.” He further added, “After the inception of a mall, parking woes have been a major issue for the shopkeepers here. Since consumers have to pay for parking inside the premises, they prefer to park in front of the shops.” The residents also informed City Express that there are no playgrounds for children at Nagarpalya. They have to go to KV school, in order to play. Bhuvaneshwari Nagar, Maruthi Nagar, C V Raman Nagar, Jogapalya (Bairasandra), Abbaiappa Layout, Poojari Lakshmaiah Layout, Seenappa Layout, Patel K Marappa Layout, HAL Officer’s Enclave, Vishvavihar, LRDE Quarters, Nagavara are important areas coming under this ward. The roads are well asphalted, since there are many MNCs here. Unlike many other wards under BBMP, civic workers are clearing the garbage on regular basis. Ganesh, a resident of Bairasandra said, “We have no water issues as a public bore well is dug-up for us in the locality.” However, the residents were upset with cable operators and the Electricity Department, digging the road. Ganesh further added, “The roads have been in a bad condition for a long time now, since the roads are constantly dug to lay some lines.”Area Corporator, M Krishnappa, said, “We have constructed 11 bore wells in my ward . Water woes will  disappear by June.”
