HYDERABAD: Burning issues like Telangana, political instability due to mass resignation of MPs and MLAs and price were at the top of the minds of devotees attending the Rangam programme held at the Sri Ujjaini Mahakali temple on Monday.However, intervention by Ujjaini Mahakali Temple Bonalu committee chairman and MLA M Shashidhar Reddy and MP Anjan Kumar Yadav ensured no such controversial questions were directed at the oracle Swarnalatha during the foretelling session. When contacted, temple authorities and persons accompanying Swaranalatha admitted they were directed not to raise controversial issues. Standing atop a wet clay pot, Swarnalatha said this year the state will get good rainfall. She expressed satisfaction over prayers offered by devotees and added they would have a happy and peaceful life this year. On temple development, she said it was not happening properly but said she would support the temple committee in their efforts. The Lashkar Bonalu concluded on Monday, with the idol taken out on a caparisoned elephant. The procession went round General Bazar, RP road and other areas of Secunderabad. Pothrajus and Ghatams accompanied by teen maar beats took part.Meanwhile, the Hyderabad Bonalu particularly in the Old City will be held on July 24 and a procession taken out from the Akkanna Madanna temple at Haribowli on July 25.
