Pak soldiers to act in new TV show to honour army
According to media reports, Faseel-e-Jaan Se Aagay, is aimed at depicting the courage of the Pak forces.

New Delhi: The popular drama series Faseel-e-Jaan Se Aagay on PTV Home channel salutes Pakistan's soldiers who are embroiled in the battle against terrorism. The telefilms feature real soldiers as actors, who feel that it is a part of their duty to bring the stories of their fellow soldiers on to the screen for the world to know. The series started its second season this month.

According to media reports, Faseel-e-Jaan Se Aagay, is aimed at depicting the courage of Pakistani people and the armed forces during operations against terrorists in the troubled Mingora region. It attempts to unveil the real face of terrorists who have been exploiting people in the name of religion.

The eleven-episode drama series has been scripted by renowned playwrights such as Zafar Meraj, Wasi Shah, Sajjad Saji and Aamir Raza and the list of directors include Kashif Nisar, Azeem Sajjad, Shakeel Adnan and Aamir Yousaf. The series is produced by Pakistan's Inter

Services Public Relations and the executive producer is Khawar Azhar, who is also the Chief Operating Officer of Catholic Relief Services.

Composed by Sahir Ali Bagga with lyrics by Imran Raza the theme song of the series Imtihan Hai Imtihan has been sung by Rahat Fateh Ali and Shafqat Amanat Ali Khan. In spite of its low budget and amateurish acting, the series has built a huge following in Pakistan.

India television also had a similar series Param Vir Chakra, aired on Doordarshan in 1988, that told the true stories of Indian soldiers whose bravery won them the highest gallantry award.
