Pakistan denies entry to boy born in India
Sohail Khan's parents Fatima and Mir Mohammed had visited Rajasthan to meet the former's ailing father.

New Delhi: In a fateful incident, a Pakistani family is trying hard to take their newborn baby to his homeland as the child was born in India. Sohail Khan was born prematurely on April 14 to Pakistan citizens during their visit to Jaisalmer, India.

The authorities in Pakistan are now saying that as the child was born in India they can't give permission for his entry. Sohail Khan's parents Fatima and Mir Mohammed had visited Rajasthan to meet the former's ailing father.

Mir Mohammed said, "We were told that there was no stamp on the passport. We will go to Delhi to complete the formalities.

While Fatima said, "We will get the documentation done, we will not leave the infant behind." The duo have now approached the Pakistan High Commission to get in place their child's documents.

Reacting on the matter, Railway Police Officer Banwari Lal said, "When a child is born in another country his photo is attested to his mother's passport or a new passport is made. They didn't do this so immigration stopped them."
