CPI (Maoist) discard Sabyasachi Panda has spewed venom against the outlawed outfit bringing to the fore the turmoil within the outfit.
On Sunday, Panda issued an audio message and accused the Left Wing Extremist organisation of being blood-thirsty and individual-centric.
In what is seen as an apparent retort to the CPI (Maoist)’s official announcement of sorts that he has been expelled from the party, Panda said the revolutionary party has deviated from its ideals. It has become anti-tribal and narrow-minded in its political approach. Worse, CPI (Maoist) has become individual-centric with certain members of the central committee dictating terms which he has been opposed to.
Panda said CPI (Maoist)’s announcement that he has been ousted from the party has come late since he had left the outfit about several months back and made an official announcement a month ago about forming Odisha Maovadi Party.
“I had also written a letter to the central committee about problems in the party, but it reached the media and police mid way,” he said in the message.
The Maoist leader said he could no more accept the blood-thirsty methods of the CPI (Maoist) which believed in killing innocents terming them as police informers. The party and its central committee were behind the riots in Kandhamal where they targeted the Christians in order to polarise the opinion, Panda said.
He also accused that he did not want to be part of any cold war between his wing and rival outfits which is why he quit and expected masses, for whom he claimed to be fighting, to support him. “It has always been a turf war between People’s War and MCC of Andhra Pradesh and Chhattisgarh and I did not want to be part of it. I don’t feel threatened by the CPI (Maoist) nor do have I any grudge against anyone,” he said.
Panda also revealed that CPI (Maoist) has adopted a terror strategy to attain its goals. “During the Niyamgiri resistance, I was once kept in house arrest for three months by them,” he said.
Stating that he has been planning to part ways since 2011, he said his motto would be to fight anti-people policies and political parties behind it.
On Friday, a politburo member of CPI (Maoist) had gone on record saying Panda had been expelled over his ‘enemy-like opportunistic stand on the outfit as also the movement and the leadership”. “He had proved himself to be a renegade,” the CPI (Maoist) spokesperson had said.
