Pilikula Kambala, an annual buffalo race held in Dakshina Kannada that has been suspended for thirteen years, has been revived. This time, the district administration has come forward to conduct the government-sponsored Pilikula Kambala. It has been decided to hold Pilikula Kambala in the second week of November and in the presence of various departmental officials and public representatives, the Kambala Call Muhurat has been held. According to reports, the district carpet committee has decided to conduct it on November 17 and 18. Not only Kambala, but also the government has decided to arrange the Tulu Nadu festival. Against this backdrop, a call was made by the District Kambala Committee and the Dakshina Kannada District Administration. The puja was held in the presence of the priest, and the construction of the call was started by breaking the nut.
Special Pilikula Kambala will be held under the leadership of Dakshina Kannada District Collector Mullai Mugilan. From November 14 to 18 this year, it has been decided to organise a district cultural festival under the name of Tulu Nadu Utsav in collaboration with the Youth and Sports Department, Kannada and Cultural Department, Science and Technology Department and Education Department. Inauguration of the program will be done on November 14 and will be organised Science and Technology Fair and Children’s Festival for children, Agriculture and Livestock Fair from November 15, district level folk sports programs will be organised at Kesaru Gadde on November 16. The plans of the district administration are to hold Kambala on November 17 and 18 and to hold cultural programs by local talents every evening.
For this innovative program of Dakshina Kannada district, it has been decided to create an outline of the program after discussing with all the MLAs, elected representatives, and carpet committee of the district, including Legislative Assembly Speaker UT Khader and District In-Charge Minister Dinesh Gundurao.
