Podcast: Gaga doesn't come across as a diva
Lady Gaga will be performing at the Formula One after-party, and that's bound to be a dazzling spectacle.

It's official. Lady Gaga's finally going to visit India for the first time. Towards the end of October, she'll be performing at the Formula One after-party, and that's bound to be a dazzling spectacle.

I have to say, since a lot of people ask what she's like, when I met her I was most surprised by how contained she is, really, and seems to be very much in charge of her image, what she says and what she projects. We met her in LA, right after she recorded the Jay Leno show, and the morning after she'd won three Grammys.

She doesn't come across as a diva at all - and reassured me right before our interview that she'd be removing her face mask half-way through. Which she did. She's not ditzy in the least - and as many of us have seen a powerhouse performer, who's also very articulate. Passionate about her message to just be yourself, on gay rights, and when it comes to policies like America's don't-ask-don't-tell policy which the US military recently repealed.

One of the questions she had about India was whether she has lots of 'Little Monsters' here - referring to her fans. I told her agent I'm sure but not quite at the level of what we saw in LA. In fact, there was a contest for Lady Gaga lookalikes, where fans - young and old, male and female alike - dressed up in their favourite Gaga costumes and congregated!

Hype isn't even a word that applies to Gaga. You need something way beyond that, since she's constantly trying to challenge herself as a singer and an overall performer, and she needs to stay one step ahead of the rest.

It should be an exciting Octoberfest for Gaga fans everywhere.####
