New Delhi: The noose is tightening around sacked Uttarakhand Minorities Commission chief Sukhdev Singh Namdhari's son, maternal uncle and driver in the twin murder case of liquor baron Ponty Chadha and his brother Hardeep Singh at a farmhouse in Delhi's Chhatarpur area. The police suspect that the Namdhari's son tampered with the pistol that was allegedly used in the shootout at the farmhouse.
On Tuesday Delhi Police Crime Branch officials investigating the case went to the Chhatarpur farmhouse with CFSL experts where Ponty and Hardeep were murdered on November 17. The police reconstructed the entire incident with the help of the CFSL team. The investigators are trying to find out what exactly happened on November 17 at the farmhouse.
The police also took Namdhari's PSO Sachin Tyagi with them to the farmhouse for the investigation. The investigators are trying to find out details about the weapons which were used during the shootout and resulted in the death of Ponty and Hardeep. Police officers say that the ballistic report can provide more clues about incident. Five employees of Ponty, who are already in police custody, also accompanied the investigators.
Meanwhile, the police have issued a notice to Namdhari's son Surendra on Tuesday as they suspect that his has been trying to destroy evidence after allegedly tampering with the pistol's serial number which Namdhari had reportedly used to fire at Hardeep. Police are also looking for Namdhari's driver and his uncle Hardayal along with his son Sukhdev.
